Nomos Lands €20M to Power Smarter European Homes

Berlin-based energy startup Nomos has closed a €20 million funding round led by Index Ventures, with backing from angel investors including Bolt founder Markus Villig, UiPath's Daniel Dines and Nord Security's Tomas Okmanas, according to a press release from the company.
Nomos wants to connect millions of European homes to the energy market, helping households cut their electricity bills while making better use of solar panels, home batteries and electric vehicles already sitting in driveways and basements. The idea: by coordinating when homes consume, store and sell power, these assets can add the flexibility needed as more solar comes onto the grid.
To pull that off, the company has built itself as what it calls a full-stack power company. Nomos is already a regulated electricity supplier and balancing responsible party in Germany, running its operations through in-house software called Nomos OS. The platform uses automation and agentic AI to handle tasks that would normally take large teams, from demand forecasting and electricity trading to billing, metering and customer support.
Rather than selling directly to consumers, Nomos partners with the manufacturers and installers households already trust, letting those companies offer energy products under their own brand while Nomos runs the electricity supply behind the scenes.
Electricity supply and solar export are already live, with battery and EV flexibility trading set to follow. The new funding will go toward scaling up the Berlin team as Nomos aims to become Europe's largest power company, the press release states.
