Berlin has been selected as one of the first locations for a new European AI consultancy backed by AI company Anthropic and the British private equity investor Hg. The new venture is expected to launch by the end of the year with hubs in London and Berlin.
According to information published in a Financial Times article, the independent company will place AI consultants and engineers directly inside European businesses. Their role will be to help companies develop new AI-powered products and support existing AI initiatives. Anthropic and Hg reportedly aim to build the business into a company worth more than $10 billion within five years.
The move reflects growing efforts across Europe to accelerate AI adoption and bring advanced AI technologies into everyday business operations. It also signals increasing competition for established consulting firms that advise companies on digital transformation and technology implementation.
For Anthropic, the project marks its first standalone AI consulting company in Europe. The company has already collaborated with Hg since 2024 and has experience supporting AI projects within Hg’s portfolio companies. The new consultancy is expected to focus on software businesses and other organizations serving professional and business customers.
Berlin’s selection as a launch location underlines the city’s growing importance in artificial intelligence. OpenAI recently announced plans to open a Berlin office as well, adding to the momentum around the local ecosystem.
With more than 500 startups working in the field, Berlin is Germany's leading AI location, and anyone curious about the local AI ecosystem can find more details at ai.berlin.
