Berlin-based cybersecurity startup Cygrid has emerged from stealth with €2.66 million in pre-seed funding to expand its identity enforcement platform and scale its business across Europe and beyond. According to the company’s press release, the round was led by Atlantic, with participation from d11z and several cybersecurity and enterprise technology investors.
Cygrid aims to tackle a growing challenge for companies adopting AI agents and cloud-based services. The startup says that many cyberattacks no longer rely on malware but instead exploit trusted identities, credentials and access tokens. As organizations deploy more AI agents with access to sensitive systems and data, the number of identities that need monitoring continues to increase.
The company’s platform maps human users, service accounts, API connections and AI agents into what it calls an Identity Intelligence Graph. Based on this model, Cygrid determines what each identity should be allowed to do and can revoke access, rewrite risky commands or block actions before they are executed.
Cygrid had already prevented more than 2,000 risky identity actions across more than 20 companies before its public launch. Customers and design partners include Barfer’s and Horizn Studios, while the platform is already running in environments such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, GitHub, Slack and HubSpot.
Founded in January 2026 and headquartered in Berlin, Cygrid was created by cybersecurity veterans Dmitry Kharchenko and Dekel Paz. The company says the new funding will be used to strengthen its enforcement capabilities, grow its team and support further market expansion.
