Berlin-based adtech company Almedia has reached two major milestones with its rewards platform Freecash. According to a company press release, Freecash has now paid out more than $500 million to users worldwide and has reached a $1 billion annual revenue run rate.

The platform allows users to earn rewards by discovering and engaging with games and apps. This approach has helped Freecash grow to more than nine million monthly earners. Over one million users have earned more than $100 through the platform, while more than 70,000 users have earned over $1,000.

The company sees this growth as part of a broader shift in digital advertising. As more consumers ignore traditional ads, brands are looking for ways to create stronger engagement. Freecash focuses on a value exchange model, rewarding users for interacting with products and services they choose to explore.

Almedia says its recommendation system learns from user behavior and helps match people with offers they are likely to enjoy. For advertisers, this can lead to stronger long-term engagement and retention.

The platform’s reach is increasingly global. Freecash has made payments across 217 countries and territories. The United States accounts for the largest share of payouts, followed by Germany, the United Kingdom, Canada and France.

Founded in Berlin in 2020, Almedia operates internationally and remains profitable without external funding. Alongside Freecash, the company also offers monetisation solutions for app publishers and works with brands and developers around the world.
