Berlin-based AI startup Freshflow has closed a $10M Series A round, led by Reimann Investors with participation from Capnamic, caesar., World Fund, Venture Stars, Catatumbo Capital, and new co-investor IBB Ventures. The news comes straight from a company press release published on June 3, 2026.

The startup, founded in 2021, built an AI system designed specifically for fresh food, a category that legacy forecasting tools have long struggled with. The core problem: over €200 billion worth of fresh groceries are thrown away across Europe every year before reaching customers, largely because inventory and ordering decisions rely on outdated software built for shelf-stable goods.

Freshflow's platform covers demand forecasting, inventory inference, spoilage prediction, and supplier routing, all built from scratch for fresh produce. The results are notable: up to 30% less spoilage per store, 2 to 4% more revenue, and a 93% acceptance rate for AI recommendations by store staff, compared to an industry standard of 50 to 60%.

Today the technology is live at nine grocery retailers across Germany and France, including merchants within groups like EDEKA, Carrefour, Intermarché, and Stroetmann. With the new funding, Freshflow plans to expand its AI to cover meat, bakery, and in-store production by Q4 2026, and push further upstream into warehouses, distribution centers, and producers, a strategy it calls "From Store to Source."

The company is also hiring aggressively, with 30 or more new roles planned over the next 12 months across engineering, machine learning, data science, sales, and customer success in Berlin and Paris.
