Berlin's Almetra raises €16.3M to sharpen factory AI

Berlin-based manufacturing intelligence startup Almetra has raised €16.3 million in a Series A round led by blisce/, with participation from Merantix Capital, NAP, Robin Capital, Underline, Critical Ventures and a group of business angels. The fresh capital will fund product development, a push into the US market and the continued evolution of Almetra's platform into a comprehensive intelligence and automation layer for factory floors.
Founded in 2022 by Maximilian Fischer and Silviu Homoceanu under the name Deltia AI, the company recently rebranded to signal a broader strategic shift. While the original focus was on analysing manual production processes, Almetra now aims to serve as a full data and control layer for manufacturing environments, including robotics applications in selected production settings. The platform works by mounting AI-powered cameras above production lines. These cameras process video locally, converting footage into structured production data such as cycle times, output rates and equipment utilisation, without requiring any IT integration from the factory. Combined with machine data, IT systems and operator knowledge, this gives manufacturers a single source of operational intelligence.
According to a report by Handelsblatt, clients including Bosch, Siemens Energy, ABB and Viessmann have seen productivity gains of up to 20 percent after deploying the technology. Privacy is built into the system by design. Video footage is anonymised, most data stays on-site and only brief, randomised snippets are retained for root-cause analysis. CEO Maximilian Fischer says many manufacturers know they are losing production capacity but simply lack the visibility to pinpoint where. The platform is designed to surface optimisation opportunities within weeks, moving factory teams from guesswork to decisions grounded in real operational data.
