Berlin-based venture capital firm Auxxo has closed its second fund, the Auxxo Female Catalyst Fund II, at €33.3 million, according to a report by EU-Startups. That's more than 75% bigger than the firm's first fund, which raised €19 million.
Auxxo backs teams with at least one female founder holding a minimum of 20% of founder shares, investing at pre-seed and seed stage across Europe. The European Investment Fund came in as anchor investor when the fund had its first close at €26 million back in July 2025. Since then, the roster of backers has grown to include Aurum Impact, EnBW New Ventures, Cherry Ventures and Speedinvest, plus a mix of family offices, business angels and founders. Notably, more than half of the fund's limited partners are women.
That matters because female-founded companies still get a tiny slice of the venture capital pie, just 16.5% of European deal activity in 2025, per EU Startups. The fund has already backed 11 companies, spanning climate data infrastructure, AI-driven dispute resolution, satellite imaging, cancer drug design and more.
Alongside the fund close, Auxxo also launched a pan-European Founder Matchmaking Platform. The idea is to help women find co-founders and build stronger teams from scratch, tackling what the firm calls the "co-founder gap." It's aimed at three groups: solo founders hunting for a technical or operational partner, experienced operators ready to start their own venture, and teams looking for capital, where Auxxo can offer direct access to its pre-seed and seed investment know-how. The platform is live now on Auxxo's website.
