Berlin's Quantistry Joins IQM Quantum Computers

Quantistry Joins IQM Quantum Computers

The deal brings a Berlin-founded chemistry simulation platform into IQM's quantum computing stack, aiming to speed up real-world industrial R&D.

IQM Quantum Computers has acquired key assets of Quantistry, a Berlin-based startup known for its cloud-native chemistry and materials simulation platform, according to a press release from IQM. The deal, announced on 6 July 2026, brings Quantistry's software, algorithms and intellectual property into IQM's full-stack quantum computing business, along with its quantum chemistry and machine learning engineering team. For IQM, the acquisition fills the gap between raw quantum hardware and the tools industrial companies actually need.

Quantistry's platform lets users without deep quantum or chemistry expertise simulate chemical compounds and materials, automatically routing workloads across classical high-performance computing, AI, and quantum backends. Automotive, aerospace, chemicals, materials science and pharmaceuticals are among the target industries.

Jan Goetz, CEO and co-founder of IQM, said the move builds a bridge between hardware, software and real industrial applications, helping the company deliver cloud-accessible simulation value to enterprise customers faster and in a capital-efficient way. Dr. Marcel Quennet, co-founder and CEO of Quantistry, called joining IQM a big step forward for the technology and the wider industry. He said IQM's quantum expertise and hardware infrastructure give the platform the launchpad it needs to scale, letting R&D teams model complex molecular and physical properties faster than before.

The acquisition closed alongside IQM's business combination with Real Asset Acquisition Corp, making IQM the first publicly listed quantum computing company from Europe. Clients will be able to build proof-of-concepts on Quantistry's software and scale them as IQM's quantum hardware matures, all without switching platforms.
