Bounti Gets €4M to Fix AI's Blind Spot: Physical Work

The Bounti team
Berlin-based startup Bounti has closed a €4 million seed funding round to build an AI-native platform for operational excellence in the physical economy. The round was led by Ventech, with participation from IBB Ventures, Festina, Robin Capital, Common Magic, and business angels including Paul Forster (Indeed), Koen Bok, and Jorn van Dijk (Framer). The company shared these details in its press release.
The core idea is simple but underserved: most AI tools were built for desk workers. Think writing assistants, code generators, and data dashboards. But a huge chunk of the economy runs on people working in kitchens, stores, and hotel lobbies, not spreadsheets.
According to Bounti, that gap has real consequences. Standards drift between locations. Knowledge is lost between shifts. And by the time HQ notices a quality issue, it has already hit revenue.
Founded by Deniz Bayraktaroglu and Ziar Khosrawi, who both have backgrounds in hospitality, Bounti is designed to support operational workflows directly where the work happens, on mobile, in real time, with minimal friction. The platform helps teams maintain standards, onboard new staff faster, and keep internal communication flowing.
It is already in use across thousands of employees at brands including BackWerk, Coffee Fellows, Peter Pane, L'Osteria, LAP Coffee, and Burgermeister.
The new funding will be used to deepen the link between operational quality and business performance, with a focus on the physical, decentralized businesses that earlier waves of enterprise software largely passed by.
