Berlin-based healthcare technology company ETERNO has secured a significant investment from European growth investor Verdane to scale its AI-native platform for outpatient care across Germany. The deal, detailed in a press release from Verdane, puts fresh firepower behind one of Germany's most promising digital health plays.

The timing is telling. German doctors currently lose up to one full day per week to documentation, billing and other administrative tasks. Of the more than 170,000 outpatient physicians in Germany, an estimated 97% still run practice management software on-premise rather than in the cloud. Across Europe, around two million doctors work in outpatient care, yet the underlying technology remains fragmented and out of date.

ETERNO, founded in 2019 by Maximilian Waldmann and Frederic Haitz, addresses this gap with ETERNO Cloud, a fully integrated cloud platform that automates workflows end to end, from patient access and clinical documentation through to billing and analytics. More than 2,000 German doctors already rely on it daily.

With the Verdane backing, the company plans to expand its technology, accelerate its commercial rollout and pursue selective acquisitions. Verdane Partner Dominik Schwarz cited zero churn and a rapidly growing enterprise pipeline as key drivers of the firm's conviction.

CEO Waldmann frames the ambition broadly: ETERNO aims to become the foundational infrastructure layer for outpatient care, enabling providers and AI developers to operate within one of Europe's most complex and regulated markets. The company currently employs more than 150 people.
